Beginner equipment

Welcome back to my version of paintball for dummies. Today issue is going to cover beginner equipment and some great site to visit to purchase high quality equipment.  The basic beginner paintball gear consists of only a few items:
1. Clothes you don't mind getting dirty. This is an absolute must!
2. A paintball marker. No parents it's not a gun. Sheesh.
3. An air tank. All paintball markers are powered by air therefore you need one.
4. A hopper. This is what you load all of your paintballs into to shoot.
5. A mask. The absolute most important part of all your gear. This is the one piece of equipment I suggest you buy a.s.a.p. because rental masks are really uncomfortable.
6. Pods and a pod pack. This is like a fanny pack for extra paint.

Ok. Now a though break down of each piece of equipment.

The first piece of equipment is your clothes. You must not mind getting your clothes dirty. Those new converse shoes you just bought and want to show off? Leave them at home.  Some of the best dedicated paintball clothes are BDUs or Battle Dress Uniform. These are the uniforms the military uses. Military surplus store sometimes have them but a good place to look is here at
Real Action Paintball. They have an astonishing array of BDUs for sale.

Second: the paintball marker.  If you intend to rent, please fell free to skip this section. The basic beginner marker has several qualities. It is easy to maintain, durable, and will last for a very long time.  One such marker is the Tippmann 98 Custom.  Again you can get this at RAP4.  One of the best value packages is located at This link: Tippmann® 98® Custom Platinum Series without ACT Basic Power Package. This package includes the marker, hopper, air tank, and a mask! It's an amazing deal.

Lastly, pods and a pod pack. These come in every shape and size and function. There are so many of these I would simply recommend looking online through a Google search to find one to fit you and your budget.

Ok well that all for today.

until next time,
Ben
